TULUM "101" for begginners.

Updated: Feb 12, 2022

TULUM ANCIENT RUINS: is the heart of this small town. It is a delight to be able to appreciate the ruins on a sunny day and walk its paths with its exuberant flora. Be prepared with a bottle of water, sunscreen and a hat, you will need it. To get there, we recommend you enter from the federal highway on your scooter. Arriving at the ticket office area you will find a large parking lot.

BEACHES: You can decide between public and private beaches. Both beaches belong to the same area, but the difference is that in the private ones you have to pay to have access through a beach club or hotel. The costs of a club can vary from 25 to 200 USD, where in some cases the price of access can be consumed on account. An example of a public beach is paraiso, where you can lie down in any area of the beach.

In both options you will notice that there will be a lot of traffic and little parking, but that is not a problem for your scooter. On the public beaches you will not find convenience stores, so we recommend you buy what you need before if you plan not to enter a club. In both areas they will offer you tours to go snorkeling to see turtles, reefs and colorful fish, if you decide to take it you will be able to appreciate the ruins from the sea. FOOD: After being at the beach or any other activity you will surely have a big appetite. Tulum has an incredible variety of places to eat, if you want something gourmet and haute cuisine we recommend you go to the hotel zone (high prices), you can also visit restaurants in town (average prices) or if you have plans to save, you can choose by establishments on the street in the town (satellite avenue). An option where you can find a wide variety of food at affordable prices is Palma Central or near Centauro Sur street. THE AMAZING CENOTES. You will find a great list of cenotes, however, some are more famous. A good recommendation is Casa Tortuga where you can find a variety of types of Cenotes with a single access. However, if you enjoy more privacy we recommend less popular options that you can find directly on a google maps search.

You will love the scenes to take pictures, always accompanied by nature and crystal clear waters. You can visit most of the cenotes with your scooter, but be careful if some of them take you away from the main streets, since you could find completely dirt roads. Remember to bring a swimsuit, comfortable clothes, water shoes, mosquito repellent and cash (they generally do not accept card payments). Night life If at the end of your visits you have energy you can continue with more activities at night. The nightlife will surprise you in the hotel zone. You will find amazing restaurants with live shows as well as club parties.
